In a year when most local golf courses showed the stress of the summer of 2007, the Grizzly course delivered exceptional playing conditions. When asked how the response was simple; we began an aggressive aerification program in the fall of 2006 which enabled the root structure of the turf grass to strengthen. Stronger healthier roots mean playing conditions that can stand up to the high temperatures and drought we experienced last summer. So when you see a golf course being aerified instead of looking at it as an inconvenience look at it as in investment. A little investment in the shoulder seasons of fall and spring will yield improved playing conditions in the summer.
Always looking for improvements we have continued our bunker renovation. Last winter we addressed the drainage issue in several of our bunkers and this winter we have begun restoring bunkers to their original shape and size.
The Golf Center staff is looking forward to 2008 and as always your comments are always welcome.

The Duramed Futures Tour a subsidiary of the LPGA will be bringing some of the top female professional golfers to the Grizzly to compete in the Duramed Championship June 17 through June 22, 2008.
Labeled the Road to the LPGA Tour these young women are competing for the ultimate in womens professional golf. Each year the top 5 money winners earn an exemption to the LPGA Tour. Recent alumni include Grace Park, Lorena Ochoa, Karrie Webb and Cristie Kerr. This is an opportunity to watch the future stars of the LPGA compete in your back yard.
